When I was a child, back in the 1980's, thrift stores were very thrifty. There also seemed to be more independent thrift stores when I was a child.

Before you make a purchase, you should read about their quality measures and if they meet your satisfaction should you buy them. Just because you are paying a lesser price than its retail counterpart on a thrift store, does not mean that you should be short changed.
